Students of the Month
Hannah Burke - E-Learning
Hannah was in Alt Ed and then came down to E-Learning to try to get her classes done quicker and graduate on time. In the beginning, Hannah's attendance was very poor and was not making progress at a pace that would set her on course to graduate with her class. However, the last month or so Hannah has really changed things around. She comes almost every day now and has completed two classes in the last two weeks. Hannah has rediscovered her motivation to graduate on time - doing what she needs to do to complete classes. I am really proud of the changes she has made to ensure she graduates this year. She is signed up for summer school but because Hannah has turned things around, it is looking as if she is not going to need to be here. Hannah has plans to become a CNA and is ready to move onto this next phase of her life.

Sammi Watters - Alt Ed
Sammi has had somewhat of a “roller coaster” year with her academics and attendance, with grades ranging from As to Fs and missed time in the double digits for the majority of the school year. Toward the end of Block 5 the proverbial lightbulb went on for Sammi and she has turned her academics and attendance around. She currently has over 33:00 BANKED time, and passed all of her Block 5 classes.
Sammi also deserves to be Student of the Month because of the leadership roles she plays her at Charter and in the Rock County community. She participates in Key Club and the Principal’s Advisory Council, and has been very active in Rock County 4-H. She is currently the secretary of her club and a candidate for Fair Queen (I think). She has also performed with the 4-H Showcase Singers and Heatwave.
As a junior she has begun to look toward her postsecondary future. Sammi has already met with a U.S. Navy recruiter, been tested, and accepted into the nursing program. She is looking forward to being enlisted and stationed for her nurse’s training in San Diego.
